Your mate is good but… Okay man, whatever. You wanna big up your homie. Cool. I do however have a problem with this very old notion that being a pro is somehow linked to comps or some sort of championship. Roces started in 81 and Rollerblade in 82. That’s 34 years ago. Okay, maybe team rollerblade came a couple of years years later but Lightnings came out in the 80s for sure. Edwards was doing 540 McTwists in VG1 which was filmed in 92 and at the time he was being paid by Team Rollerblade. Pretty sure that team existed in the late 80s too. So were he, AJ, Angie and the others not pro? Because I could have sworn they were the godfathers and godmothers of our sport? Or is the beginning of our culture defined by a Benetton sponsored toy advert dressed up as an edgy extreme comp? Seriously? Weird.
